Software Engineering Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineering Team Lead to head Zid’s Storefront Engineering team, building and maintaining customer‑facing commerce experiences such as checkout, authentication and themes. The role combines hands‑on development with technical leadership, shaping reliable, secure and scalable software.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Storefront Engineering team’s day‑to‑day delivery, set priorities, break down work and remove blockers.
• Own technical direction and quality of checkout, authentication, themes and related storefront systems.
• Design and review solutions for complex user journeys, APIs, data flows and integrations.
• Write and review production code, support debugging and uphold standards for testing, security and observability.
• Partner with Product and Design to shape requirements and identify technical constraints early.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams on shared services, dependencies and releases to ensure end‑to‑end storefront flows.
• Improve system performance, availability, resilience and scalability; investigate incidents and drive improvements.
• Mentor engineers, strengthen their technical judgment and guide their growth.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands‑on development of modern web applications and backend services.
• Proven experience leading projects or mentoring engineers and communicating technical decisions across teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, release practices and production monitoring.
• Ability to diagnose production issues using logs, metrics and traces and to drive root‑cause analysis.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
