Specialist Backend Engineer – Python & AI Automation

About the role

Almosafer is seeking a Specialist Backend Engineer with strong Python expertise to develop scalable services, automation workflows, and AI‑powered agents. The role focuses on expanding the company’s in‑house automation platform and integrating generative AI technologies into business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based applications, APIs, and automation services.
• Build and sustain automation workflows that support operational processes.
• Enhance the internal automation platform and embed AI/LLM capabilities.
• Work with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, function/tool calling, and structured outputs.
• Integrate databases, APIs, message brokers, and enterprise systems.
• Ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and production‑ready.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Provide ongoing technical support and platform enhancements.
• Evaluate emerging AI and automation technologies for business improvement.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands‑on Python development.
• Proficiency in FastAPI, Flask, Django or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or comparable databases.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI/LLM technologies and prompt engineering.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Agile/SCRUM experience preferred.
