Specialist PLC Technician – Automation & Maintenance

About the role

BENTELER Group is launching a new automotive manufacturing plant in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia. As a Specialist PLC Technician you will apply your expertise in automation, PLC programming and robotics to ensure the reliability and optimisation of production equipment in this greenfield facility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support focused on PLC programming, robotics and automation systems.
• Optimise existing equipment and stay current with technical developments.
• Own PLC programming tasks, manage production‑related IT interfaces and perform troubleshooting.
• Assist in the set‑up and launch of new equipment and projects.
• Lead maintenance improvement actions in collaboration with other departments.
• Standardise maintenance procedures and contribute to expert networks.
• Support the Develop & Launch process from a plant‑maintenance perspective.
• Participate in innovative initiatives such as 3D printing and Industry 4.0 projects.

Required profile

• Technical background in electrical, mechanical or automation engineering.
• Experience with PLC programming and industrial robotics.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, international environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
