Steward

About the role

The Steward will work within the Food & Beverage department of a Marriott hotel in Riyadh, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene for kitchen areas, dishware, and service equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and store kitchen tools, knives, tables, silverware and other equipment using the three‑compartment sink and appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly and rotate stock, ensuring clean wares are placed in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, stack and re‑wash items as needed, and break down dirty bus tubs.
• Empty and maintain trash cans, dumpsters and recycling bins, and dispose of glass and cardboard safely.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, and follow all safety, security and company policies.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions to the manager.

Required profile

• No formal education or prior experience required.
• Physical ability to lift, carry or move objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Capability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and to reach overhead, bend, twist and stoop.
• Clear and professional communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment.
