Structure Design Engineer - Bridges

About the role

AtkinsRealis is seeking a Structure Design Engineer specialized in bridges to lead the design, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures across all project phases. You will work on complex urban transportation corridors and highway networks, ensuring innovative and practical engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept, preliminary, and detailed design of steel bridge structures.
• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and independent design verification.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs with highways, utilities, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and construction teams.
• Provide construction support, respond to technical queries, and review shop drawings, method statements, temporary works proposals, and material submittals.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor construction activities, and ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Review contractor submissions and oversee bridge erection, launching, rehabilitation, strengthening, and maintenance works.
• Ensure designs meet Saudi regulations, client requirements, and international standards such as AASHTO and Eurocodes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the bridge design team.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience in bridge or structural engineering.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
