Systems Administrator (Manager/Advisor) – Riyadh

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator (Manager / Advisor) to join our IT team in Riyadh. This hands‑on technical leadership role manages system operations, provides guidance on infrastructure, and mentors junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers, VMware and Hyper‑V virtualization platforms, and AWS/Azure cloud environments.
• Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning and implement optimisation measures.
• Manage security policies, firewalls, patching and vulnerability assessments to meet ISO 27001 and NCA standards.
• Design and maintain backup solutions and disaster‑recovery plans using tools such as Veeam or Commvault.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell, Bash or Python scripts.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.
• Lead infrastructure projects from design through deployment.
• Mentor junior administrators, review their work and promote continuous development.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, system diagrams and incident reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive system‑administration experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or advisory capacity.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure.
• Advanced knowledge of VMware vSphere or Hyper‑V virtualization.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, routing, load balancing).
• Experience with backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash or Python scripting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; Arabic is a plus.
