Tax Section Manager - Overseas Tax

About the role

Alfanar is hiring a Tax Section Manager in Riyadh to take full responsibility for the overall management of overseas tax. The manager plans, develops, executes and monitors the department's activities and related systems using optimal resources at efficient cost, while delivering to company quality standards and managing risks and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Tax law knowledge: apply domestic and international tax laws (corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax) and ensure compliance across jurisdictions
• Tax compliance and reporting: prepare and review tax returns, manage filings and timely payments, and oversee subsidiary returns
• Tax planning and optimization: develop tax-efficient strategies, including transfer pricing, tax credits and incentives, with finance teams
• Transfer pricing management: ensure compliance with local and international standards and work with external advisors on intercompany pricing
• Risk management and audit support: manage tax risk, support internal and external audits and respond to tax authority inquiries
• Cross-border taxation: handle double taxation treaties, withholding tax obligations and compliance in countries where subsidiaries operate
• Stakeholder collaboration: communicate complex tax matters to non-tax professionals and work with finance, legal and external advisors
• HR and organizational leadership: recruit and develop high performers, manage underperformance fairly, and maintain a delegation of authority matrix
• Budget control, business planning and process improvement: monitor budgets, turn corporate goals into plans, write clear policies and seek automation opportunities

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to review tax data and identify discrepancies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain tax matters to non-tax professionals
• Proactive problem solving, timely decision-making and delivery of results within budget and quality
• Familiarity with tax compliance software, automation tools and ERP systems
