Technical Library IT Engineer

About the role

The Technical Library IT Engineering Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s digital library systems. This role ensures reliable access to engineering documents, standards, manuals, drawings and other technical resources through robust IT infrastructure support and data management.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain technical library systems, databases and digital repositories.
• Ensure proper storage, indexing, classification and retrieval of engineering documents and technical references.
• Manage user access, permissions and security protocols for library systems.
• Provide IT support for digital library platforms, including troubleshooting, updates and system enhancements.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to keep technical documentation accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Implement backup, archiving and disaster‑recovery procedures for library data.
• Support integration of new technologies such as cloud storage, digital cataloguing tools and automated indexing systems.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, IT standards and cybersecurity requirements.
• Train staff on the use of library systems and digital tools.
• Prepare periodic reports on system performance, usage statistics and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, system administration or digital library management.
• Strong analytical, organizational and documentation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering and technical teams.
