Tour Guide Trainer

About the role

The Tour Guide Trainer will design, deliver and continuously improve training programs for tour guides, ensuring they meet quality, safety and service standards while providing exceptional visitor experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programs for new and existing tour guides.
• Create training materials such as scripts, manuals, presentations and assessments.
• Coach guides on storytelling, visitor engagement and communication techniques.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of site history, narratives and safety procedures.
• Conduct practical field training, shadowing sessions and live tour evaluations.
• Assess guide performance, provide structured feedback and develop improvement plans.
• Standardize tour delivery while allowing guides’ personality to shine.
• Support onboarding, certification and alignment of training with operational needs.
• Update training content based on feedback, changes or new experiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in tourism, education, history, hospitality or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a tour guide or in visitor‑experience roles.
• Prior experience in training, coaching or teaching (strongly preferred).
• Excellent presentation and facilitation abilities.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Fluency in required language(s); additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to evaluate performance objectively and constructively.
