Traffic Engineer

About the role

Plan and control safe vehicle and pedestrian movement while integrating physical‑security requirements with construction logistics across the project site. The Traffic Engineer will develop traffic‑management plans, coordinate deliveries, and ensure compliance with safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update traffic‑management, access‑control, parking, delivery, emergency‑route, and security‑zone plans.
• Assess changing work fronts and arrange one‑way systems, crossings, banksmen, signs, barriers, lighting, speed controls, and exclusion zones.
• Coordinate gate capacity, delivery booking, vehicle permits, workforce access, visitor control, and restricted‑area authorisation.
• Inspect roads, gates, fencing, guard posts, CCTV coverage, signage, pedestrian routes, and emergency access.
• Investigate traffic incidents, security breaches, unauthorised access, congestion, and near‑misses; recommend corrective action.
• Brief security and logistics teams on daily priorities and verify guard and marshal deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in civil, transportation, security engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of site traffic, logistics or security‑planning experience on major construction projects.
• Training in temporary traffic management and risk assessment; security licensing or approval as required by the project.
• Knowledge of local traffic and access requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with plan‑markup tools.
