Training & Competency Coordinator

About the role

The Training & Competency Coordinator plans, coordinates and delivers training programmes to ensure all employees meet competency and regulatory requirements. The role supports a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence across operational and support departments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the site Training Matrix and annual training plan.
• Coordinate training needs with department managers and schedule induction, internal courses, awareness sessions and toolbox talks.
• Monitor technical and specialised training delivered by relevant departments.
• Ensure mandatory training and competency are completed before employees perform safety‑critical tasks.
• Maintain accurate training records, competency assessments, certificates and refresher schedules.
• Track training validity and organise timely refresher sessions.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and produce regular training and competency reports.
• Promote continuous learning throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Operations, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in training and competency coordination or training management.
• Experience in high‑risk environments such as Oil & Gas, Aviation Fuel Operations or Petrochemical is preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation and organisational abilities.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of training and competency management systems.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programmes and learning materials.
