Utilities Technician (Boiler)

About the role

Join MBRF, a leading global food company, as a Utilities Technician focused on boiler operations in Jeddah. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient performance of boiler, thermal fluid heater and air‑compressor systems that support our production facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain boilers, thermal fluid heaters, air compressors and related utility equipment.
• Perform preventive, corrective and scheduled maintenance on pumps, valves, air dryers, water softeners and water‑treatment systems.
• Monitor operating parameters, boiler water quality and chemical dosing; keep accurate operational and maintenance records.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Inspect equipment regularly, support overhaul planning and manage spare‑part inventories.
• Record equipment issues, maintenance activities and work orders in SAP and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, suppliers and OEMs on technical matters and critical spare‑part procurement.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, food‑safety, HACCP, GMP, 5S and Food Defense standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2‑year technical/vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years hands‑on experience operating and maintaining boilers, air compressors or similar utility systems, preferably in the Food/FMCG sector.
• Strong practical knowledge of boiler house equipment, thermal fluid heaters, pumps, valves, water‑treatment systems and boiler water quality.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs and technical diagrams.
• Knowledge of chemical and fuel handling, HSE regulations and relevant technical standards.
