Utility Operator – Cell Relining & Superstructure Refurbishment

About the role
The Utility Operator will support the Cell Relining Operator in refurbishing superstructures, changing pots, rebuilding pot shells and performing related tasks. The role focuses on safe, efficient execution to maximise production output.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare all tools and equipment required for casting operations in advance.
- Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and pay loaders in compliance with safety procedures.
- Assist with brick lining according to required standards and designs.
- Support superstructure refurbishment, welding, fabrication and ramming processes.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times.
Required profile
- Completion of training modules specified for the PG5 position.
- At least one year of experience in heavy‑industry environments (preferred).
Required skills
- Forklift licence – Category 7.
- Training on Aluminium/Water explosion safety.
- Training on electrical hazard safety.
- Operation of mobile equipment (forklift, pay loader).
- Basic welding and fabrication knowledge.
