Vehicle Software Support Engineer

About the role

Lucid is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Software Support Engineer to provide hands‑on support for internal development fleets, production line vehicles, and customer cars in a fast‑paced automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for development, fleet, and customer vehicles, both on the production line and in the factory.
• Partner with software, hardware, validation, manufacturing, and quality teams to diagnose and resolve complex vehicle system issues.
• Perform root‑cause analysis using Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), vehicle telemetry (Grafana), and Vector tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
• Utilize core UDS service IDs (Routine Control, Security Access, Diagnostics sessions, data download/transfer) for troubleshooting.
• Create and manage issue reports, tracking progress through resolution.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross‑functional engineering partners to ensure timely issue closure.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation approximately one weekend per month.
• Contribute to technical reviews, team meetings, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Computer and Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software/hardware support.
• 3+ years of experience with CAN bus systems and vehicle diagnostics.
• Experience supporting automotive systems; EV experience is a plus.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and validating UDS (ISO 14229) diagnostic services for ECU manufacturing, EOL testing, and production ramp‑up.
• Demonstrated ability to perform vehicle software diagnostics and root‑cause analysis.
