Well Test Operator

About the role

The Well Test Operator is responsible for safely rig‑up, operate, and rig‑down surface well testing equipment at oil and gas well sites. Working under the direct supervision of a Well Test Supervisor, the role ensures accurate data collection and equipment performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down well test equipment (separators, chokes, sand traps, burners, flowlines, manifolds) following company procedures and HSE standards.
• Operate and monitor equipment during flow periods, recording pressure, temperature, and flow‑rate data at specified intervals.
• Assist in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and pre‑job safety meetings.
• Monitor well performance and equipment condition; report any abnormalities immediately.
• Maintain equipment in safe working order and support routine maintenance and inspections.
• Complete field data sheets accurately and hand over readings to the Supervisor/Engineer.
• Ensure all basic equipment assigned to the crew is complete, in place, and job‑ready.
• Follow all client (e.g., Saudi Aramco) and company safety and environmental procedures.
• Assist with restocking wellsite consumables and supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma; technical or vocational diploma in oilfield technology preferred.
• 2–5 years experience in Saudi Aramco well testing or oilfield services operations.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts (e.g., 60 × 30) in remote desert locations.
• Physically fit and able to work under pressure in field conditions.
• Basic English literacy for data recording; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Operation of well test equipment (separators, chokes, sand traps, burners, flowlines, manifolds).
• Flow calculations and data recording (pressure, temperature, flow rate).
• Safety protocols including H2S awareness and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Routine equipment maintenance and inspection.
