Workplace Health & Safety Officer

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to partner with the Site Operations team. You will drive safety initiatives, ensure compliance with local and regional regulations, and create a safe environment for all associates.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with Amazon WHS standards and policies.
• Measure site performance against safety requirements and develop corrective action plans.
• Deliver safety projects on time and with quality.
• Analyze safety metrics, incident trends, and allocate resources to high‑risk areas.
• Conduct incident investigations and close corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform regular site safety audits, identify non‑compliant equipment or processes, and implement risk‑elimination solutions.
• Audit record‑keeping, workplace organization, and associate behaviors for consistency.
• Lead, mentor, and train safety associates and site leaders on WHS responsibilities.
• Maintain PPE inventory and coordinate with procurement.

Required profile

• Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to build trust with Operations teams and inspire change.
• Thorough understanding of local/regional WHS regulations and Amazon policies.
• Flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Team player who reports to the site WHS manager.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of safety programs, environmental and ergonomic principles.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and safety data analysis.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and audit processes.
• Capability to deliver effective safety training.
