Zakat & Tax Lead

About the role

The Zakat & Tax Lead will oversee all Zakat and tax compliance activities for RUA, ensuring strict adherence to regulations issued by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). This senior position acts as the primary liaison with tax authorities, manages audits, and drives process optimisation to protect the company’s financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage ZATCA tax audits, including preparation and response.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual financial closures related to Zakat and tax.
• Monitor and book Zakat and tax accruals accurately each month.
• Review and file Withholding Tax and VAT returns on time, avoiding penalties.
• Stay updated on changes to Zakat, tax and VAT legislation via the ZATCA website.
• Respond promptly to authority queries and review draft submissions before filing.
• Establish reporting mechanisms with Finance stakeholders to enable early corrective actions.
• Maintain registers of non‑compliant suppliers and customers and follow up accordingly.
• Ensure all work follows relevant policies, procedures and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Zakat and tax compliance.
• Direct experience handling ZATCA audits and assessments.
• Background in real estate, construction or large corporate environments is preferred.
• Proven ability to work independently and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
