3D Printing Trainer – Metal Additive Manufacturing

About the role

The Trainer will design and deliver comprehensive training programs on metal additive manufacturing technologies (DED, LPBF, WAAM) for engineers, technicians and operators in the energy sector. The role combines curriculum development, hands‑on mentoring, and project leadership to accelerate adoption of high‑performance 3D‑printed components.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training courses covering metal AM processes, material handling, and quality assurance.
• Lead end‑to‑end projects for 3D‑printed parts, from design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) and file preparation to post‑processing and validation.
• Ensure printed components comply with industry standards such as API 20S, DNV B203 and AS9100.
• Develop digital inventory and supply‑chain strategies to reduce lead times and costs.
• Implement advanced AM systems for high‑performance alloy parts and drive continuous innovation.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and operations teams, creating SOPs and certification pathways.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in metal additive manufacturing.
• Background in energy, oil & gas, aerospace or heavy industry.
• Deep knowledge of DED, LPBF and WAAM processes.
• Extensive work with nickel‑based alloys (Inconel), titanium and high‑performance polymers.
• Proven ability to develop curricula, mentor staff and assess competency.
• Familiarity with API 20S, DNV B203 or AS9100 standards (preferred).
• Strong metrology and quality‑validation skills, including 3D scanning and CT inspection.
• Experience managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets and building business cases for AM adoption.
