Android Mobile Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Android Mobile Engineer to lead the delivery of stable, scalable production Android applications. You will focus on API integration, media streaming SDK usage, performance, reliability, security, release automation, and observability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship production Android applications.
• Define Android architecture for scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Integrate backend APIs and distributed systems.
• Implement real‑time updates, push notifications, background sync, and event‑driven flows.
• Integrate and optimise media streaming SDKs on Android.
• Improve performance, memory usage, battery life, startup time, and network consumption.
• Own Android CI/CD pipelines, Play Store releases, versioning, and staged rollouts.
• Drive crash monitoring, observability, and production incident resolution.
• Build for poor networks, lifecycle constraints, background limits, and device fragmentation.
• Support app hardening, obfuscation, tamper resistance, and threat detection.

Required profile

• Proven track record shipping production Android apps to Google Play Store.
• Mandatory expertise in Kotlin.
• Deep knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack, app lifecycle, background work, and modern Android architecture.
• Production experience with media streaming or real‑time communication on Android.
• Experience integrating backend APIs, distributed services, and third‑party components.
• Strong understanding of Android performance, stability, memory, battery, and network optimisation.
• Experience with CI/CD, release automation, crash analysis, monitoring, and staged rollouts.
• Secure mobile development and API integration experience.
• Experience with Android app obfuscation, hardening, and threat detection.
