Category Manager – GM & Textile (Houseware & Housekeeping)

About the role

The Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing category business plans using a customer‑centric approach. The role manages the overall performance of assigned categories by developing and implementing strategies across product assortment, pricing, promotions, shelf presentation, supplier management, and inventory planning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall category performance, sales, profitability and growth, and develop annual growth and operating plans.
• Develop and optimise product assortment based on customer insights, market trends and category performance.
• Define and implement pricing strategies, monitor margins and financial performance.
• Plan and manage promotional activities, forecasting and post‑promotion analysis.
• Build joint business plans with key suppliers, negotiate and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Improve inventory turns, set minimum facing/display quantities and work with supply chain to enhance stock efficiency.
• Oversee in‑store category resets, planogram execution and category visibility.
• Set objectives and KPIs for direct reports, provide coaching and ensure adequate resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in category management, retail, FMCG or a similar commercial role.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and commercial mindset.
• Leadership and people‑management experience.
