Co‑op Trainee – Mining Operations

About the role

This co‑op trainee position offers a hands‑on introduction to mining operations, focusing on safety, learning, and basic production processes. The role is designed for individuals seeking practical experience in a mining environment. During the program, trainees will gain exposure to mining equipment and production processes, developing professional discipline, teamwork, and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Attend general safety induction and mine‑specific safety training sessions.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and site rules.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on site.
• Prepare weekly learning summaries or short presentations to demonstrate progress.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training sessions and incorporate supervisor feedback.
• Complete assigned training tasks and final evaluation.
• Observe and assist with basic operation of mining equipment under supervision.
• Support documentation and reporting of daily activities.
