Customs Studies Senior Specialist

About the role

The Customs Studies Senior Specialist operates with minimal supervision to prepare complex and specialized reports related to customs fines and assessments imposed by ZATCA. The role supports committees by delivering accurate, objective studies and ensures that case files are complete and error‑free.

Key responsibilities

• Request and gather required documents and data from stakeholders within specified timelines.
• Prepare and verify case files, correcting data errors and ensuring completeness.
• Analyze customs cases involving fines, highlighting reasons for imposition and delivering timely studies to committees.
• Analyze customs assessment cases, explaining tax ratios from an accounting perspective.
• Produce accurate studies for appeals committee consultations and develop customs accounting opinions on tax laws.
• Generate periodic and customized reports for the section and submit them to management.
• Maintain and update the section’s database with relevant information.
• Support junior staff, provide training, and oversee workflow to ensure efficient operations.
• Escalate complex issues and contribute to action plans for resolution and improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in customs, legal, or accounting studies.
