Director of Finance – 5★ Hotel

About the role

The Director of Finance leads all accounting and financial functions for a 5‑star hotel, providing strategic financial support and advice to the General Manager and hotel team. The role focuses on maximizing value through robust reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly financial statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations and cash‑flow statements for ownership and management.
• Develop and deliver the annual operating budget and a 5‑year financial plan.
• Analyse financial performance, identify profit‑margin improvement opportunities and advise on capital‑planning using NPV and ROI calculations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit‑card reconciliations and working‑capital efficiency.
• Establish, audit and enforce internal financial controls, purchasing practices, tax compliance and GDPR compliance.
• Lead, coach and evaluate the accounting team, ensuring adherence to hotel standards and legal requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Proven ability to produce accurate financial reports, budgets and long‑term plans.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, tax regulations and GDPR requirements.
• Leadership experience in managing and developing finance teams.
