Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the operational performance of all rooms‑division departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Spa and Recreation. This senior leader ensures standards are met, drives revenue, and maintains high guest satisfaction across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development and preparation of the hotel’s strategic plan.
• Prepare the annual budget, monitor revenues and hold profit‑and‑loss responsibility.
• Coordinate with Revenue Management and Sales to maximise occupancy, rates and overall profitability.
• Control duty rosters for sub‑departments, ensuring quality service while optimising personnel costs.
• Oversee labour‑cost controls within budget limits and manage occupancy variances to boost productivity.
• Conduct interviews, manage operational tasks, delegate responsibilities and follow up on execution.
• Re‑evaluate workflows, implement and assess procedures and policies to improve efficiency.
• Maintain clear communication with other department heads and ensure safety procedures are up‑to‑date with the Fire & Safety team.
• Perform daily walk‑throughs to verify cleanliness and quality standards in both front‑ and back‑of‑house areas.
• Maintain a high visibility presence with guests and employees and achieve at least an 85% score during LQA inspections.

Required profile

• Arabic speaker
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar Director of Rooms position
