General Physician – Internal Medicine

About the role

The General Physician – Internal Medicine supports the Medical Review Panel (MRP) and treating teams by implementing management plans, documenting patient encounters in the EMR, and ensuring compliance with Fakeeh Care policies. The role involves direct patient care across inpatient wards, surgical, obstetric, gynecologic, and pediatric settings.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients, obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical examinations, and document findings in the EMR.
• Conduct daily inpatient rounds, write progress notes, and coordinate care with consultants, nurses, dietitians, and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Respond promptly to medical complaints, initiate appropriate investigations (e.g., CT, MRI, US) and document clinical justifications in line with insurance standards.
• Complete handovers at shift change, ensuring pending diagnostic and therapeutic tasks are clearly communicated.
• Prepare accurate discharge summaries, discuss discharge instructions and medication plans with patients, and attend departmental meetings and quality‑safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one year internship experience in a recognized hospital or health centre.
• Valid practice licence (e.g., SCFHS or DHA) and BLS certification.
• Excellent oral and written English; Arabic preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
