General Practitioner – Resident Physician

About the role

The General Practitioner – Resident Physician supports the medical team at Fakeeh Care by evaluating patients, documenting care, and coordinating with specialists. This position involves direct patient interaction, inpatient rounds, and participation in quality and safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients, taking comprehensive medical, medication, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional histories.
• Document all clinical information promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) according to Fakeeh Care policies.
• Notify attending physicians of admitted in‑patients, discuss clinical conditions, and clarify work‑up and management plans.
• Conduct daily inpatient rounds, record findings, assessments, and care plans in progress notes.
• Respond to patient complaints, manage care with specialist assistance, and order advanced diagnostic tests (CT, MRI, US) with documented justification.
• End‑of‑shift handover, detailing pending diagnostic and therapeutic issues to colleagues.
• Coordinate care among nurses, consultants, dietitians, social workers, laboratory, radiology, and insurance doctors.
• Complete required forms, transfer documentation, discharge summaries, and patient discharge instructions.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality and patient‑safety activities, and continuous medical education (minimum 30 CME credits per year).

Required profile

• Medical graduate currently in a residency program or equivalent post‑graduate training.
• Active medical license to practice in Saudi Arabia.
• Commitment to ongoing education with at least 30 CME credits annually.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for documentation and order entry.
