HYCO Shift Operator

About the role

The HYCO Shift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient day‑to‑day operation of the HYCO facility. Reporting to the HYCO Lead/Shift Supervisor, the role ensures production targets are met while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer, CO2 recovery units, and associated water‑treatment equipment according to work instructions.
• Manage the pipeline network delivering hydrogen, steam, CO2, oxygen and nitrogen to customers.
• Prepare and execute safety work permits, LOTO, confined‑space entry, and other safety procedures.
• Support commissioning activities and provide operational guidance to maintenance and engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation, monitor quality‑assurance initiatives, and report shift production progress.
• Ensure compliance with process safety, MOC, OPHR, and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in operating industrial gas or hydrogen production facilities.
• Strong understanding of safety practices, including permit‑to‑work, LOTO and confined‑space procedures.
• Ability to work in a shift environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
