About the role
The Inspector, QC Piping ensures that all piping construction activities, from fabrication to erection, are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with technical specifications, company policies, and maritime standards.
Key responsibilities
- Verify material identity of pipes, valves, and fittings against drawings and specifications.
- Confirm welding inspections are completed, joints released, and compile test packs with all relevant documentation.
- Check dimensions, alignment tolerances, flange alignments, torquing values, and cleanliness of piping systems.
- Conduct in‑process surveillance to ensure adherence to erection procedures.
- Manage consumable planning and coordinate purchases with PSCM.
- Perform piping walk‑down inspections, generate punch lists, and verify corrective actions.
- Maintain complete inspection records from initial checks to final acceptance.
- Liaise with clients and third‑party inspectors (ABS, DNV, LR) to meet contractual and code requirements.
- Monitor mechanical completion and fulfill pre‑commissioning requirements.
Required profile
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional welding inspector certifications (e.g., CSWIP, AWS, ASNT).
- 6–9 years of experience in quality inspection of offshore structures such as rigs or jackets.
