Laboratory Technician – Road & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

IC İçtaş Construction is seeking a detail‑oriented Laboratory Technician to support quality control and testing activities on a major road and infrastructure project in Riyadh. The role involves performing material tests, managing laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt according to project specifications and standards such as AASHTO and ASTM.
• Perform systematic on‑site sampling of raw materials and fresh concrete/asphalt for quality control.
• Accurately record, calculate, and document all test data in standardized formats, keeping laboratory logs audit‑ready.
• Maintain, clean, and assist in the calibration of laboratory testing equipment and measuring instruments.
• Report any non‑conformities immediately to the QA/QC Manager and support corrective actions.
• Label, store, and track samples to ensure proper curing and timely testing.
• Coordinate testing schedules with site engineers and batching plants.
• Uphold health and safety standards within the laboratory environment.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• 20+ years of quality‑control experience in construction and infrastructure projects.
• At least 10 years of hands‑on experience in construction site laboratories, including supervision.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Detail‑oriented, disciplined, and able to manage laboratory personnel and reporting activities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite for reporting and record‑keeping.
• Knowledge of international testing standards (AASHTO, ASTM).
