Lead Accountant

About the role

The Lead Accountant is an experienced professional responsible for overseeing complex accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in vendor payments, payroll processing, and bank transactions. This role provides guidance to junior staff and resolves escalated issues while maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record accounting transactions and journal entries for accounts payable and payroll in line with accounting standards.
• Review invoices and payment requests, match them with approved purchase orders, investigate inconsistencies and escalate when necessary.
• Monitor vendor accounts, manage payment schedules, and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Reconcile ZATCA payroll data, identify deviations, and investigate discrepancies with stakeholders.
• Prepare and process bank transfer requests and other payment documents.
• Handle daily bank transactions, perform daily bank reconciliations, and manage petty cash replenishment.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments for invoices, payroll, benefits, pensions, and staff rewards.
• Follow all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Support junior team members and assist in solving escalated problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, accounting standards, financial reporting, and risk assessment.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and professionalism skills.
