Linux Systems Expert

About the role

The Linux Systems Expert will design, build, and operate highly available Linux platforms on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will own the full lifecycle of operating systems, automation, security, and compliance for mission‑critical workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and harden RHEL, Oracle Linux and Ubuntu across OCI and GCP.
• Implement OS lifecycle management: golden images, patching, kernel updates and CVE remediation.
• Build and maintain OS pipelines using Packer, Terraform and Ansible.
• Design secure VCN/VPC networks, load balancers, NAT, DNS and bastion hosts.
• Manage compute, storage, snapshots and backup/restore strategies.
• Integrate with OCI IAM and GCP IAM, enforce RBAC and least‑privilege access.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters (OKE/GKE), node pools, autoscaling and OS image upgrades.
• Enforce container security: pod security policies, image scanning and secrets management.
• Develop CI/CD automation for OS and infrastructure deployments.
• Configure monitoring, logging, dashboards, alerts and incident runbooks.
• Document standards, patterns and runbooks; mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 8‑12 years of Linux administration experience (RHEL/Oracle Linux/Ubuntu).
• At least 5 years working with OCI and GCP cloud environments.
• Professional certifications preferred (RHCE, OCI Architect, Google Cloud Architect, CKA/CKAD, Terraform Associate).
