Mechanical Supervisor – Site Installation for Material Handling

About the role

As a Mechanical Supervisor at Vanderlande you will lead the installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment for material handling projects, ensuring safety, quality and timely handover on site.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and supervise installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment according to project schedules.
• Provide clear instructions to the onsite team and ensure compliance with Vanderlande quality and process standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the installation phase.
• Conduct site surveys, verify readiness and support handover activities.
• Perform regular site walks, audits and quality‑control checks.
• Monitor progress, report to the Site Manager and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Train new technicians and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and final handover to the customer.
• Produce as‑built documentation, defect lists and spare‑parts records.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience installing material handling systems and leading site installation teams.
• Strong knowledge of conveyor systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and project schedules.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills during installation.
• Experience maintaining quality control and safety standards on site.
