Neurosurgery & Neurology Consultant

About the role

Dr. Samir Abbas Hospital in Jeddah is seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Neurosurgery and Neurology to join its distinguished medical team. The role involves delivering specialist surgical and clinical care for patients with brain, spine and peripheral nerve disorders, while leading the neurosurgical department to uphold international standards of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurosurgical conditions including trauma, tumors, vascular disorders, degenerative diseases and congenital abnormalities.
• Perform complex neurosurgical procedures using advanced techniques and technologies.
• Provide outpatient consultations, inpatient care and surgical services.
• Lead, supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff within the neurosurgery unit.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as neurology, radiology, oncology, rehabilitation and intensive care to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Participate in hospital committees, quality‑improvement programs and clinical audits.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with advancements in neurosurgery and contribute to teaching and training activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent) with recognized specialty training in Neurosurgery.
• Board certification (Arab Board, American Board, FRCS or equivalent).
• Minimum 5–8 years of post‑specialisation experience, preferably as a Consultant in the private healthcare sector.
• Excellent surgical, diagnostic and decision‑making abilities.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
