Patient Care Technician

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential support to nursing staff and acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families within a clinical setting. The role involves direct and indirect patient care, coordination of clinic activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and documentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the clinic environment daily, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
• Assist physicians during examinations and set up required equipment.
• Organize patient flow, track status, and facilitate lab, radiology, and other investigations.
• Process admissions, referrals, and related documentation accurately and promptly.
• Answer telephone calls courteously, relay messages, and respond to visitor inquiries.
• Maintain patient privacy, adhere to JCIA/CBAHI safety standards, and follow infection‑control policies.
• Perform nursing procedures within the PCT scope, including vital‑signs monitoring, pulse‑oximetry, weight/height measurement, glucose checks, ECG, and pain assessment.
• Provide patient and family education, initiate emergency measures when needed, and report observations to supervisors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• Successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program.
• Valid Saudi Council license.
• BLS certification.
• Preferably some healthcare experience; fresh graduates with strong interest are also considered.
