Peer Reviewer (PhD) – Urban Planning Research

About the role

We are seeking an experienced academic peer reviewer to evaluate manuscripts in the field of urban planning. This part‑time, remote position supports our long‑term research initiatives and requires a strong scholarly background.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and contribution of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and scientific soundness.
• Provide constructive, written feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer and familiarity with online manuscript systems is highly desirable.
