Project Engineer - Automation

About the role

ABB is looking for a Project Engineer – Automation to support engineering activities across a range of project sizes and complexities within the Energy Industries Division. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers, delivering cost‑effective solutions that meet contract specifications, quality, safety and cybersecurity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic survey work, standard automation engineering, analysis and design tasks.
• Collect data and support the production of engineering designs and documentation.
• Prepare proposals, bills of materials and engineering hour estimates for projects.
• Develop, program, test and document process control applications in DCS environments.
• Interpret control narratives and P&ID drawings to ensure correct implementation.
• Support communication in meetings and participate in project workshops.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in automation or process control.
• Ability to work independently on limited‑detail tasks while applying standard engineering methods.
• Good judgment in preparing technical documentation and proposals.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for multidisciplinary teams.
