Quality Control Inspector – Produce (Dammam)

About the role

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that all inbound fresh produce and deli items meet Panda specifications and local (SASO/SFDA) as well as international food safety standards before they are accepted into the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and prepare for daily fresh deliveries, following DC receiving SOPs and sampling plans.
• Check temperature of vendor vehicles and products before off‑loading and before dispatch to stores.
• Inspect products, recommend acceptance or rejection based on produce and meat specifications, and document non‑conformities with photos.
• Complete receiving logs, checklists, and ensure proper storage conditions per product category.
• Verify Brix and firmness levels for fruits according to specifications.
• Monitor pest‑control systems in the distribution centre to prevent infestations.
• Report all findings to the Team Leader and Assistant QC Manager and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher education, preferably college level.
• Previous experience in fresh produce, grocery, or food quality inspection.
• Familiarity with corporate QA regulations and local food safety standards.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, make decisive judgments, and justify rejection decisions.

Required skills

• Use of digital camera for documenting non‑conformities.
• Operation of industrial thermometers for temperature checks.
• Measurement of Brix and firmness using appropriate meters.
• Basic computer literacy for reporting and data entry.
