Recreation Assistant Manager

About the role

The Recreation Assistant Manager supports the daily operation of the pool and beach areas at The Ritz‑Carlton Amaala, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for guests. This role combines hands‑on supervision, guest service excellence, and coordination of recreational programs. You will work closely with direct reports to implement departmental strategies and drive both guest satisfaction and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support recreation staff, stepping in to perform duties when needed.
• Oversee daily maintenance, cleanliness, and operation of pool, beach, and cabana units.
• Schedule and coordinate events, programs, and activities such as sand painting, bonfires, and team‑building sessions.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, including water‑sports and scuba providers.
• Order, inventory, and distribute supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms.
• Assist with the children’s program, including activity planning and equipment procurement.
• Deliver exceptional guest service, model appropriate behavior, and coach staff on service standards.
• Participate in HR activities such as performance appraisals, training coordination, and employee development.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of recreation/health‑club experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field (no experience required).
• Ability to supervise staff, manage supplies, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
