Room Service Order Taker – In‑Room Dining

About the role

The Room Service Order Taker handles all telephone orders for In‑Room Dining, ensuring guests receive accurate and prompt service. You will act as the first point of contact, guiding guests through the menu, taking orders, and coordinating with kitchen and service teams to deliver a memorable hospitality experience.

Key responsibilities

• Answer guest calls promptly and take In‑Room Dining orders accurately and professionally.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of menus, beverages, promotions and hotel services, providing personalized recommendations and upselling.
• Enter orders correctly into the POS system and ensure they are communicated to the relevant departments.
• Follow up on orders to guarantee timely delivery and high service standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized Order Taker area throughout the shift.
• Handle guest inquiries, preferences and complaints professionally, escalating when required.
• Support the In‑Room Dining team and other F&B operations during busy periods.
• Adhere to hotel standards, HACCP, hygiene, health & safety and departmental SOPs.

Required profile

• Good verbal, reading and writing proficiency in English.
• Well‑presented and professionally groomed at all times.
• Strong communication, guest‑contact and problem‑solving skills.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in In‑Room Dining, Food & Beverage or a similar guest‑facing hotel position.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with hotel POS systems.
