Senior Data Center Officer

About the role

The Senior Data Center Officer is responsible for ensuring reliable and secure operations of the organization’s data centre environment. This role combines management of Microsoft 365 services, Azure identity solutions, and core infrastructure to support business continuity and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, Purview) in hybrid environments.
• Design and implement Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA and Zero‑Trust security controls.
• Define and enforce security and compliance frameworks, including NCA standards.
• Plan, monitor and optimise IT infrastructure (servers, virtualization, multi‑cloud workloads) for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Maintain high availability of business applications and core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Monitor data‑centre physical infrastructure, perform routine maintenance, patching, backups and preventive checks.
• Respond to incidents and service requests within SLA, following ITSM processes for Incident, Service Request and Change Management.
• Lead deployment of new IT solutions aligned with business and operational requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data‑centre operations and IT infrastructure management.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure identity services.
• Hands‑on experience with security frameworks, Zero‑Trust and compliance enforcement.
• Ability to monitor performance, plan capacity and drive optimisation initiatives.
• Familiarity with ITSM best practices and service‑delivery processes.
