Senior Manager, Environmental & Sustainability – Project

About the role

The Senior Manager, Environmental & Sustainability will lead on‑site HSE and environmental operations for a large construction project in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures compliance with Saudi regulations, manages environmental permits, and oversees external sustainability consultants driving LEED Platinum, Mostadam Diamond and Net Zero certifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all on‑site HSE and environmental management activities, including permits, waste plans, dust and noise controls, and incident reporting.
• Conduct HSE inspections, audits, risk assessments and ensure subcontractor compliance.
• Act as internal accountable for LEED Platinum, Mostadam Diamond and Net Zero workstreams, reviewing and approving consultant deliverables.
• Maintain live tracking logs for certification credits and milestones across design and construction phases.
• Lead, mentor and develop HSE and environmental staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Identify, assess and mitigate environmental and HSE risks, overseeing audits and corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit periodic HSE and sustainability performance reports to project leadership and client stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in environmental and sustainability management within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian HSE regulations and international sustainability standards (LEED, Mostadam Diamond, Net Zero).
• Proven track record leading on‑site HSE teams and managing large‑scale environmental compliance programs.
• Experience overseeing external sustainability consultants and delivering certification outcomes.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
