Specialist VAT Advisor

About the role

The Specialist VAT Advisor will provide expert guidance on Value Added Tax matters, focusing on Saudi Arabian regulations. Leveraging extensive experience from Big 4 firms, you will help clients optimise tax positions while ensuring full compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive VAT advisory services and support to clients across various industries.
• Conduct detailed VAT reviews, diagnostics and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare, review and submit accurate VAT returns in line with KSA legislation.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships.
• Lead seminars and workshops to educate clients and internal teams on VAT topics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed VAT compliance into business processes.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in VAT law and advise clients on implications.
• Support VAT audits, liaise with tax authorities and prepare required documentation.
• Mentor junior staff on VAT compliance and advisory practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of VAT advisory experience, preferably within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Background working at a Big 4 accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi tax laws and VAT regulations.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex VAT projects from start to finish.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
