Superintendent – Hot Mill Operations

About the role

The Superintendent will lead the Hot Mill operation, ensuring safe execution, production targets, and compliance with customer specifications. This senior position drives continuous improvement and oversees both internal teams and external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily, weekly and monthly production, availability and recovery performance.
• Ensure full EHS compliance through PTW, LOTO and risk assessments.
• Coach, staff, discipline and develop personnel to meet performance KPIs.
• Maintain SOPs, visual quality management and 5S/housekeeping standards.
• Investigate critical breakdowns and quality issues, closing actions with owners.
• Coordinate planning and scheduling for on‑time delivery.
• Plan, supervise and validate contractor work, including scope, quality and safety.
• Support shutdown/turnaround planning and execution readiness.
• Drive TPM, Lean initiatives and capital project proposals.
• Control costs within budget and report performance with recovery plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical diploma.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hot rolling mill operations or similar industrial environment.
• Proven leadership in high‑volume production settings.
