System / Database Operations Lead Engineer

About the role

The System / Database Operations Lead Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and improvement of ZATCA IT systems and databases. This senior‑level position ensures that all infrastructure components run smoothly, security patches are applied promptly, and operational standards are continuously refined.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current systems and database operational models, identify gaps, and define improvement areas.
• Lead installation, configuration, upgrades, and security patching of software, hardware, and operating systems.
• Develop and maintain database design, capacity plans, and automation scripts for routine tasks.
• Monitor systems and applications daily, troubleshoot incidents, and provide root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
• Support and mentor junior staff, delegating tasks and ensuring knowledge transfer.
• Escalate complex problems to appropriate experts and ensure timely resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in system and database operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop operational guidelines and standards.
• Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and manage stakeholder expectations.
