Accountant – General Ledger & Treasury

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to ensure the integrity of our general ledger and oversee treasury operations, complying with FCA regulations and standard accounting practices. The role involves supervising cash handling, managing bank transactions, conducting audits, and preparing financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Control and maintain the integrity of general accounts in compliance with FCA and standard accounting practices.
• Check the activities of the Cashier for checks and balances.
• Oversee treasury activities, including accounting for money transfers, bank charges, remittances, accounts payable/payroll checks, bank deposits, and coordination of wire transfers and telex payments.
• Conduct audits to ensure internal control procedures are implemented, recommend corrective measures, and follow up on them.
• Perform monthly bank and affiliate reconciliations and adjust irregularities.
• Maintain a monthly trial balance audit file to confirm all balances are accurate.
• Ensure proper filing and follow‑up on subsidy applications and refunds.
• Prepare the monthly fixed‑asset acquisition report and submit it to the Accounting Manager for approval.
