Accountant – Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our Riyadh office. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Saudi accounting standards and Zakat & Tax regulations, and supporting overall financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the general ledger, journal entries, and invoices in line with SOCPA standards.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, perform timely reconciliations and support VAT submissions.
• Reconcile bank statements, resolve discrepancies, and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Prepare financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Verify supporting documents before invoicing and ensure payroll compliance with Saudi labor laws.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate with Saudi auditors and authorities.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for business decisions.
• Utilise local accounting software such as SAP or MS Dynamics and advanced Excel for reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, MS Dynamics).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Knowledge of VAT, WHT, Zakat and Saudi GAAP (SOCPA).
