Approval Supervisor (Physician)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Approval Supervisor (Physician) to lead our Medical Approvals team for both inpatient and outpatient services. The role is pivotal in ensuring timely pre‑authorizations, maintaining compliance with CHI regulations, and supporting revenue integrity and patient care continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily approval operations and guarantee prompt submission of pre‑authorization requests to funders.
• Monitor and manage approval rejections, ensuring accurate and timely resubmission.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives and deliver training to the approvals team.
• Prepare and present approval performance reports and key performance indicators to RCM management.
• Collaborate with clinical, billing, and insurance teams to ensure seamless workflow.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD) with at least 5 years of experience in medical approvals within the healthcare industry.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role within Revenue Cycle Management.
• Strong knowledge of CHI regulations, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and billing/coding standards.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication abilities.
