Architect – Building Design (Riyadh)

About the role

Join AECOM’s Riyadh office as an Architect – Building, leading design development from concept through construction. You will ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and deliver innovative, constructible solutions for high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design development of building projects, overseeing concept, schematic, detailed and construction‑ready stages.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, including structural, MEP, fire safety, accessibility and landscape integration.
• Review and approve architectural deliverables, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.
• Manage design interfaces, resolve clashes, and respond to authority review comments.
• Support tender stages, respond to RFIs, design changes and provide technical guidance during construction.
• Mentor junior architects and maintain rigorous document control.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in architectural design and building project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Extensive knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s building codes, regulations and local authority procedures.
• Proven experience delivering building projects in Riyadh or other major Saudi cities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with architectural design software (e.g., Revit) and BIM tools.
• BIM coordination and clash detection expertise.
• In‑depth understanding of the Saudi Building Code.
• Experience with sustainable design and green certifications such as LEED or Estidama.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies and multidisciplinary coordination.
