Area Head of Project Logistics - Saudi Arabia

About the role

Maersk is looking for an Area Head of Project Logistics for the Saudi Arabia area. You will be accountable for operational performance and profitable growth within the area/cluster, leading operations and business development teams to deliver service excellence, execute global standards, drive commercial opportunities and own the P&L for your defined scope. The role reports to the Regional Head of MPL - IMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the area/cluster operations and business development teams (managers, specialists, execution staff), build capabilities, drive performance management and foster a strong team culture.
• Ensure end-to-end execution quality, service delivery, compliance and QHSE adherence; monitor operational KPIs, identify root causes of issues and drive timely recovery actions.
• Oversee resource planning, workload distribution and the use of tools, platforms and processes; lead implementation of new solutions, product updates, systems and operational standards.
• Drive area/cluster growth through opportunity qualification, pipeline support and customer solutioning; partner with Area LT and Sales to retain and grow business through improved delivery, onboarding and customer experience.
• Lead operational and commercial input into RFPs, pricing and customer engagement.
• Own the area/cluster P&L, conduct regular performance reviews and forecasting with regional leadership, and ensure adherence to global standards, policies and QHSE compliance.
• Promote continuous improvement, cycle-time reduction and operational optimisation.
• Act as the primary operational and commercial-enablement representative, aligning Product, Sales, CX, Finance, Procurement and Regional Ops, and representing the function in escalations, customer meetings and strategic reviews.

Required profile

• Strong logistics experience and extensive management experience with past performance across multiple geographies.
• Extensive supply chain experience.
• In-depth understanding of Project Logistics delivery.
• Good collaborator and communicator, with strong stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Experience with and sustained interest in systems and process management, and process improvement.
• Strong analytical ability with a global, digital mindset.
