Automation Manager

About the role

Lucid is seeking an Automation Manager to lead automation, controls, robotics, vision, SCADA, OT cybersecurity and MES‑OT integration for its AMP‑2 Drive Unit and HV Battery shops. The role covers commissioning through high‑volume stable operation, ensuring safe, capable and sustainable power‑train production while building local technical capability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern PLC/HMI/SCADA standards, safety‑control, network naming, code‑library, backup and version‑control.
• Manage Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000 and Beckhoff TwinCAT lifecycles and obsolescence roadmaps.
• Own OT cybersecurity governance, including segmentation, secure remote access, privilege management and patch coordination.
• Set robotics standards (FANUC, ABB), safety validation, uptime, recovery and critical spares.
• Govern machine‑vision applications (Cognex, Keyence), inspection integrity, recipe control and traceability.
• Lead automation FAT/SAT, production‑release criteria, run‑at‑rate support and safe launch escalation.
• Recruit, organize and develop engineers/technicians, define on‑call/shift coverage and career progression.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s in controls, electrical, mechatronics, robotics or related engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in industrial automation/robotics with at least 5 years leading teams.
• Proven experience launching greenfield high‑automation automotive or EV power‑train projects.
• Fluent English; Arabic strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Multi‑platform PLC expertise (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff).
• Robotics programming and safety governance (FANUC, ABB).
• SCADA, historian, MES/OT and database integration.
• Functional safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 60204) and OT cybersecurity (IEC 62443).
• Executive communication, financial acumen and supplier governance.
